Swim Update 6/4/25
Good morning!
Meet Last Night: Last summer, we were undefeated in our dual meets, allowing us to move up from League 3 to League 2 in GKAISA. So far, that streak has continued with our win against the Gulfwood Gators last night (388-319). Awesome job! Parents, I know these meets make for long nights, and that's tough in the middle of the week. Thank you so much for your support. And an extra "thank you" to the volunteers! Ribbons from last night will hopefully be in the rolling file folder cart outside the shed by the end of the 5 PM practice. If they're not, try again tomorrow!
It's always nice to win, but it feels even better when the other team compliments the character of your athletes. At the end of the meet, one of their officials let me know how great it was seeing our kids cleaning up, and especially how helpful the older boys were in that. That's a huge positive from last night, as well as the crazy time drops and persistent cheering. Oh, and nobody missed their race!!! One thing that we can certainly improve on is making sure everyone is wearing their team caps when they race. If you haven't gotten your cap that comes with your registration, please do that ASAP. Remember, replacement caps are $10 this season.
Navy SEAL Water Training: If you're attending the Navy SEAL Water Training at the Newport Community Center today at 4 PM, please let me know. Remember, this is open to any high schooler, and if you attend, we still want you to come to the 6 PM practice.
Texas Roadhouse Fundraiser Night: Next Tuesday, June 10th, we are having a fundraiser night at the Morristown Texas Roadhouse from 3 to 10 PM. I need to get flyers for this printed and put in file folders; I'll let you know once they're there. If you bring the flyer to the restaurant (and I'm assuming if you let them know you're with JCSC), we get 10% of the bill! The practice schedule will remain the same that day, and we're not aiming to go at any specific time, so round up your friends and family and plan for dinner there at a time that works best for you!
Thank you!
Coach Josh
