Good morning!

We're looking forward to getting this season rolling! First, just a quick reminder of our Kick-Off Party on Sunday, May 17th from 4 to 6 PM at the Jefferson City Outdoor Pool. The City has been hard at work getting the pool prepared for us. Hopefully, it'll be ready in time and we'll have some nice, warm weather for our first week. The plan is for us coaches to introduce ourselves first followed by board members. Then, us coaches will go swim (for fun) with the kids while board members give further information on the season including teaching through some of the volunteer jobs required at swim meets.

Suits, Caps, & T-Shirts
For those who have ordered team suits, Andra Hutchins (board member) will be picking these up from Swim and Tri to distribute at the Kick-Off. You're more than welcome to get yours on your own prior to that. 

Swim caps have been ordered by Barbara Nichols (board member); she said they should be here around May 20th. We'll distribute them at practice following that. For new boys, they don't need to worry about wearing caps at practice. For new girls, we have some leftover from last year that they can get early if they don't have their own prior to this season's order arriving.

The t-shirt design is being worked on. Andra will give the apparel company the final numbers on Monday, May 18th. So, shirts will be received and distributed at practice prior to Time Trials. If you have any friends who still haven't registered for this season, please encourage them to before the 18th so they make it on the first order of shirts!

Grown-Up Swimming
Why let the kids have all the fun??? Do you want to splash around, too? Join the Jefferson City Wash-Ups! I'm the "team captain." We're basically a mixture of Carson-Newman swim alumni and JCSC parents. Think of adult kickball but even more casual. You don't need to be good. This is just a fun way to get active and be in the water.

Early registration is currently open and we need more people! After 11:59 PM on Mother's Day, the price rises from $65 to $75. We don't have any official team practices; we basically just race together at a handful of meets over the summer. The current schedule doesn't have any in Jeff City, but this will change. I'll put both the nationwide Grown-Up Swimming website and our Wash-Ups' SwimTopia (where you'd sign up) below.
