Good evening, Barracudas!

We made it to the weekend! We weren't able to swim much tonight due to lightning, but I think the kids had a lot of fun with our dryland activities. I've got some updates for you here...

Beaver Brook Results
The official results from last night are attached. The Standard Banner covers all of our swim meets, and they had one of their photographers at the pool last night, so look for us in the sports section of the newspaper! While we didn't win—Beaver Brook is a fast team that just moved down from League 1 (we're League 2)—we still had tons of great swims with huge time drops and a decent amount of 1st places. We'll be handing out those donut coupons for heat winners at Tuesday's meet as well, so if your kid missed the opportunity to get one yesterday, there's a little extra motivation for them next week.

I want to say a big THANK YOU to all of the family members who volunteered to make last night happen. Swim meets simply can't happen without that kind of teamwork. Along with everyone who signed up and worked jobs around the pool, Rachelle Stocker and Jeralyn Berg deserve a shoutout for cleaning the restrooms closer to the baseball field and making sure they had what they needed. The parents who helped with decorations, tattoos, and putting the tents up this morning are also rockstars.

On the kid side of things, I think we "won" when it came to sportsmanship. I saw lots of high fives and fist bumps to the Blue Fins as well as a lot of Barracudas cheering for their teammates. That's what it's all about. One thing we certainly need to do better at, though, is picking up the trash left under out tent. I addressed the overflowing trashcans with the pool manager, but that's no excuse for all that was left in the grass. Most of it was where our middle school and high school swimmers sit. Parents, please remind them to be respectful of the facilities we use.

Tuesday's Home Meet
Hopefully you're aware by now that we're running it back on Tuesday. We will swim Peninsula Club at the Jefferson City Outdoor Pool. Warm-ups are at 5 PM, and racing begins at 6. Please be on the pool deck no later than 4:45 for check-in! Athlete RSVPing and sign-ups for jobs are both open on SwimTopia. Please RSVP ASAP! In the jobs, you'll see a bit more for concessions. We sold so much yesterday, but our wonderful concessions lead Lisa Knight needs some more help next time (good problem)! 

Just a heads up, we will be recognizing our seniors during a break about halfway through the meet.

Second Apparel Order Extension
The sale of hoodies, crewneck sweatshirts, tank tops, and extra t-shirts was supposed to end today, but we've extended it to Monday, June 15th at noon! We're trying to reach a minimum order number for cost reasons, so head to the merchandise tab of our website and get Big Brother or Grandma some Barracuda swag.

Swim Caps: Everyone got a team cap with their registration fee. If you have lost or ripped your original one from this season, we are selling replacement caps for $10. Cash, check, or Venmo (@JCSCTreasurer) works. Just write in the check memo or Venmo reason what it's for. You can give cash or checks to me or any board member.

We still have a lot of the water bottles donated to us by the Coast Guard. If you haven't gotten one yet, please ask a coach or board member.
