Good morning, Barracudas!

This won't be your last email with information about the Tom Schumann City Meet Championship, but there are several things you should be aware of before this week begins. Please read it all!

1) Senior Recognition: This morning, I filled out the forms for senior recognition at City. They're public Google Forms, so I'm just letting y'all know that's been taken care of; senior parents, you don't need to do anything. 

2) National Anthem & Invocation: We've had Barracudas sing the national anthem and deliver the invocation before meets before. Here's another opportunity to do so! If anyone is interested in auditioning to perform the national anthem, please have them contact Brad Salsbury at (865) 603-8435. Auditions may be carried out in person, over the phone, or by video audition (preferable) sent to [email protected] and [email protected]. Preference will be given to registered swimmers for anthem performances. If anyone is interested in the invocation please submit names to [email protected] and [email protected].

3) Schedule Information: A lot of people have been asking what time they'll need to be at UT each day or when things are happening. We don't have specific warm-up assignments yet nor have they made detailed timelines with all the events. Once we have that information, I'll send it to y'all. For now, your best bet is to go to this webpage and click on the "Daily Schedule" link.

4) Parking Passes: I will be picking up the pre-ordered parking passes from UT Tuesday morning after practice. I'll try and have those in your family's file folder for the evening practices that day. Parking passes must be picked up at the pool prior to City. We will not be holding onto and delivering them to folks on the street corners around Allan Jones.

5) Thursday Morning Practice: Coach Aaron and maybe Will and/or Kyle will be running a chill "shake out" practice Thursday morning at 8:30 for 11 & Up swimmers not racing that day. This is a good idea for 11-12, but even more so for middle schoolers and especially high schoolers. They will likely be done before 9:30. This is the last practice of the summer!

PS: People have begun asking about our awards banquet. We're sticking to the plan that's been on the calendar online and in the welcome packet from the beginning of the season. Sunday, August 2nd from 2 to 4 PM at Maury Middle School. The board will be providing the bulk of a meal, but we may ask families to bring snacks, drinks, and/or desserts; details to follow.
